About Me
If you’re reading this, I appreciate you taking the time to look at my work and also to learn a bit about me.
My name is Imara. I’m a 27-year-old proud Chicagoan who is currently based in Brooklyn.

I graduated from NYU - Gallatin, where my concentration was Characterization in Film & TV Through Anthropology. Essentially, my interest and specialty is in converting anthropological methods into screenwriting methods as a basis for constructing characters and worlds within film and tv, that are consistent and nuanced enough to feel almost palpably real.

My second love is postmodern art. At NYU, I also studied sculpture and photography and have continued to pursue the mediums as both hobbies and emotional outlets.

I take great pleasure in collaborating with other creatives and look forward to developing as a filmmaker, artist, and as a person by working with more artistic teams in the future.
